NABE Scholarships

Each year deserving students, with an interest in studying economics in college, apply for a Los Angeles NABE Scholarship to further their education.  We choose from among the submissions based upon their academic record, Economics professor's letter of recommendation, and the student's essay detailing how economics plays a role in their life.

The winners of the Los Angeles NABE Scholarships are announced at our June luncheon held at the Los Angeles office of the San Francisco Federal Reserve.  The students are presented their award and a Certificate of Recognition in front of our audience to a well-deserved round of applause.

To further this endeavor, this year's Board has laid out a challenge to our members and supporters.  We want to award more scholarships than any year in recent memory.

So, we created the "50 / 50 Club".  We are seeking 50 donors who are willing to donate $50 each.  The donations, along with a very generous donation by Dr. Raymond Jallow, will allow our Chapter to raise over $3,000 towards our Scholarship Fund.

Please specify that your donation go to the Los Angeles Chapter Scholarship Fund.

To contribute to this worthwhile cause and receive a tax-deductible donation receipt, mail your contributions to our Treasurer, and we will forward your contributions to the NABE Foundation.  The NABE Foundation will mail you a receipt for tax purposes.
